Love a Book!
A morning of pure indulgence spent in Wantage library! Gathering together all the books I could find on Wantage it was a chance to read and discover histories, facts and stories about the town. Of course the last book I pick up is the most interesting and the library is closing ... and I've not yet joined ... and the staff want to go home .. pah! ebay it is!
A quick morning run around Wantage
Worked out a route to take in the Millennium Park and The Grove area of Wantage, mis-judged a little and found myself on a road with no pavement (!) but then found several pathways leading around and into the centre of the town ... bit late back for breakfast but good to explore!

Mapping and the patterns in geography
First meeting with the pupils of King Alfred's Academy's elective art group. The schools After-School Elective Programme offers a range of extra-curricular activities on Tuesday and Wednesdays after school with school buses picking up at the later tie of 4.20pm, all very well organised!
The pupils in the art group had already been introduced to the project and have been looking at their own ideas for the LongAbout. Today we looked at maps and google earth images to find patterns, drawing out shapes using acetate and sharpie pens then translating these into cut vinyl to create new abstracted maps of the landscape.
